Mum's Sliced Potato

A simple and flavorful dish with crispy potatoes and caramelized onions

Ingredients

  • 3 medium potatoes (approx. 300g)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • Dark soy sauce (to taste)
  • Water (as needed)

Notes

  • Adjust quantities based on serving needs
  • For better flavor, you can marinate the potatoes in a little salt before slicing

Instructions

  1. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds and shallow fry in hot oil. Remove and set aside.

  2. In the same pan, remove oil if needed, then fry the sliced onions until caramelized and fragrant.

  3. Return the fried potatoes to the pan, add dark soy sauce, and stir until the potatoes are evenly coated.

  4. Add a small amount of water to the pan, stir well, and cook for a few more minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
