    • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce (1ζ±€εŒ™η”ŸζŠ½)
    • 1/2 teaspoon dark sweet soy sauce (1/2θŒΆεŒ™θ€ζŠ½)
    • 1/2 cup/125ml water (1/2杯/125毫升水)
    • 2-3 tablespoon cooking oil (2-3ζ±€εŒ™ι£Ÿη”¨ζ²Ή)

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of spices according to your preference
  • For a thicker sauce, reduce the water or add cornstarch slurry

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, and spices, and fry until fragrant.

  2. Add the pork shoulder and cook until browned on all sides.

  3. Add the carrots, onion, tomato, and seasonings. Stir well to combine.

  4. Pour in the water, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 1.5 hours.

  5. Remove the lid and continue cooking for another 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.

  6. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
